Dress code for tourists who want to travel to Iran:

The way of clothing in Iran, is a little different than other countries, especially for women. For tourism in Iran, it is necessary to follow the laws that exist in field of clothing;
Dress code for Ladies:
-Scarf is a cover that has been worn by many women in different countries of the world for a long time, and in Iran, both Iranian and non-Iranian women are required to cover their hair with a scarf in public.
(It is recommended fastening the headscarf with hairgrips to avoid having to constantly rearrange it.)
-According to the dress code, ladies are supposed to hide their body shape,
so, they should wear trousers – either jeans, something loose and cotton is be
st. the top should be fairly baggy and fall to about mid-thigh. Ladies should definitely cover their shoulders.

How is local dress in IRAN?
Some Iranian women wear the chador, the traditional dress in public. Many others wear a manteau – a type of tunic that reaches down to mid-thigh.
Summary of the dress Code in public for Lady Tourists:

-Hair Should be covered all the time, in public
-Legs Should be covered and the cover should not go much above the
ankles!
– Arms: Forearms can be uncovered but the shoulders and tops of arms should be covered.
-Open-toed sandals are fine, but you should probably avoid toe-nail varnish. Flip flops are also
generally usual to wear in public.
Dress CODE for Gentlemen
-Gentlemen wear jeans or trousers and they should avoid shorts in public. T- shirts
are fine, but they should avoid sleeveless vests and stick to t- shirts or shirts.
